When I began teaching high school 2 1/2 years ago after 11 yrs in middle school I realized there was a need for prom gowns for some girls who may not have the resources for the costs of prom. I asked my principal if I could start a Prom Closet. By word of mouth only so far, because I lack space, I’ve been taking gown donations in my classroom from teachers, guidance counselors, admin, friends, family and anyone who will listen to my idea. Last week the most generous donor joined forces with us, Dressed to the Nines in Chesapeake. Between their generosity and others this is now the back wall of my classroom! I am beyond excited! If you would like to clear out some space in your closet of gowns you’ll never wear again, you could make a high school girl feel like a princess for prom in Chesspeake over size wedding wears in mermaid trumpet style ? I will be reaching out to all of our schools soon.
