What is BHIM?

The app is available for both Android and iOS, and you can find it in the Google Play Store and Apple App store.

Is BHIM app like any other mobile wallet?

No, BHIM is nothing like an e-wallet as there is no wallet attached to the app. The transfer is directly done from one bank account to another and unlike other apps like Paytm and MobikWik, BHIM doesnt require you to store a limited amount of money to any wallet. Also, this is a Universal Payment Interface (UPI) and can be linked to any bank account; all you need is a BHIM app.

How do I transfer money?

Once you have downloaded the app, register yourself with your bank account. Create a virtual payment address like abc@icici, and when you do so there will be an SMS sent to you confirming the VPA. Next, enter the amount and the PIN and the transfer will be done immediately.

Can you request money?

Yes, you can. Click on the Request link and mention either the ID or the mobile number. However, this can be done only when both the sender and receiver have the BHIM app. To send the money, the sender would have to enter their PIN and transfer the money.

How much money can be transferred?

The transfer amount is limited to Rs 20,000 within 24 hours and Rs 10,000 per transactions.

How many accounts can be added?

You can add many accounts with your BHIM app, but only one can be used at one time. However, the VPA will be same for all the accounts when you switch them.

Can you transfer money to any wallet using BHIM?

No, only bank accounts are linked with the BHIM, so, you can't transfer money to any wallet.

Can you use BHIM on a computer?

No, to run the app you need to have a smartphone.

Does the recipient need to have a mobile?

There is no need to have a mobile. However, the recipient should have a VPA.

Is the app running successfully?

There is no doubt about the fact that BHIM app has already occupied millions of hearts. It has already executed 5 lakh transactions since it has been launched.
