How does the PIN or fingerprint work on Paytm
The Paytm PIN and fingerprint scanner are mainly added to make the platform more secure. So, that even if someone gets to know your login credentials or gets their hands on your phone, they wont be able to do anything with your account.
Here is how its latest Pin/Fingerprint ID feature works:
1. The Paytm app will use the phone PIN/ Fingerprint ID to secure the access to payments.
2. Update the App to utilize this latest safety feature
3. On the home page, when you click on the Pay or Passbook option, you will be prompted to an optional feature of app password.
4. Click on the add security feature and confirm the PIN and Password. Once confirmed you need to insert the new password for the app.
5. Once the PIN is set, the next time you make a payment you will be asked to make the payment.
This feature is available for Android only, but will soon be on other platforms also. However, both these features have worked in favor of customers; you can simply use the Paytm PINs to enhance the ease of usage. We can only hope that Paytm will push this feature to iOS as well.
